Tips

  • Built on the remains of a former moated castle. The foundation stone of the castle was in 1681, the inauguration of the main building was in 1696. From 1703-1706, the west wing was built, but the castle chapel lasted until 1719. From 1721 the castle tower was built with Baroque dome. The east wing was started in 1744, but it was finished inside when the castle became a museum. He is also not designed in Baroque, but in the Rococo. Destroyed in the Second World War, and burned out, they were allowed to ablate the parts worthy of preservation except for the east wing. Today, the part of the castle is rehabilitated by a Förderverein.
