The "Moorgarten" in Todtshorn probably dates back to the 16th century and is already listed under this name in the 1770 Kurhannoverschen Land registry. Probably it is a field garden for growing herbs and vegetables for the whole village. To protect against destruction by game and livestock, it was surrounded by artificial earth walls. These were planted with bushes, which were woven into a thick protective fence. There was a fountain in the middle of the garden. Such a complete system in such good condition is extremely rare. She needs the care of all of us.
