Old Kraków Główny Railway Station

The ceremonial opening of the station and the launch of the railway line from Kraków to Mysłowice took place on 13 October 1847.
The station building was erected in the mid-19th century in the neo-Renaissance style, characteristic of Prussian railway construction (the builder was an engineer of the Upper Silesian Railways from Wrocław). It was built according to the design of the Wrocław architect Peter Rosenbaum.
In the 19th century, the station underwent two more reconstructions - in the years 1869-1871 and 1892-1894 - which ultimately gave it the eclectic style that it has retained to this day. The last reconstruction of the station took place in 1920.

The beautiful old station building no longer has a function. The new train station is behind Galerira Krakowska.
