At this, but also elsewhere you can watch with a bit of luck freewheeling horses.

Incredibly beautiful nature reserve in Mallorca with the opportunity to see animals and plants.

The S’Albufera Natural Park is the most important wetland area of the Balearic Islands and is protected by two internationally significant declarations: in 1987 it was declared a SPECIAL BIRD AREA (ZEPA) and an INTERNATIONAL SIGNIFICANT AREA ACCORDING TO THE RAMSAR CONVENTION. The 1646 hectare nature park is located on the north-east coast of Mallorca near Port de Alcudia. The swampy terrain covers an area of approximately 2,850 hectares and is 32 kilometers in diameter. the area borders the municipalities of Alcúdia, Muro and Sa Pobla and is of exceptional economic and environmental importance for this area of the island.

At the place where you leave the park, there is no official exit. That means you have to climb over the barrier or wall.
Then you are a bit on the main road including roundabout road. Not exactly harmless.
For this purpose, the road is blocked in the further course (point No. 6).

At this exit from the park there is a narrow passage to the left of the gate, so you don't have to climb over the wall (anymore).

If you are interested in wild nature, this park is a "must see"Waterways, pure nature, (as a cultural home from northern Germany I would see similarities with the Dümmer)

Not only the largest wetland in Mallorca, but also, in my opinion, the most beautiful national park in Mallorca for bird watching... We didn't even know most of the birds we photographed from Germany:
e.g. little egrets, cattle egrets, glossy ibises, avocets, stone curlews, shelducks and a few more - and not forgetting the flamingos that you can watch (we were lucky enough to see a few in June, but you can usually find large numbers there later in the year).
Admission is free, but you should register at the visitor center (in our case, the number of people and the country of origin were "recorded") - this counts as permission to visit the park...(incidentally, that's also where the only toilet is and there's a drinks machine around the corner).
There are a number of platforms in the national park and also a few bird watching huts - there is a lot to see, especially from the Sa Roca huts...
Taking binoculars or a camera with you is definitely not a bad idea (according to the web, you can borrow binoculars from the visitor center)...

Boring 12 km circuit through reeds on paved paths only. The only elevation gain is on the platforms from which you can see the reeds and a bit of water from above.
More of a walk than a hike. The only difficulty when it gets warmer is 0.0 shade!

There is a lot for bird lovers to discover here, even in the rain. There were many exciting sightings such as glossy ibises, pink flamingos, hoopoes and black-winged stilts. Herons took the horse and cow taxi. Small bridges over a historic system of ditches decorated with tall reeds dominated the scene.

Incredibly boring 12.5 km circuit through reeds and invisible bodies of water on perfectly straight paved paths. Absolutely not recommended.
