Quiet forest area on the Green Belt, the former border strip between FRG and GDR. On the former border strip, surrounded on both sides by coniferous forest, heather grows, which is in bloom in late summer (late August to mid-September). As almost everywhere on the former border strip, there is an old "Kollonenweg" of the GDR border troops. You can go by bike here (which I do occasionally), but the concrete slabs that make up the old Kollonenwege are mostly full of holes and therefore very bumpy. There are also sections in which the road slabs have been removed or overgrown, there are forest paths that run parallel to them, but these are often hardly accessible by bike, as the paths here often consist of very soft sand, where you gets stuck with the bike, especially with a "normal road profile". It would be really nice if the paths on the Green Belt were made a little more "bicycle-friendly", then the Green Belt could become a beautiful, natural and certainly popular bike path.
