Flaka Haliti is a contemporary artist from Kosovo, born in Pristina in 1982. She is one of the most important Kosovar artists
of her generation and has made an international name for herself through her versatile and often conceptual approach to art. Her work spans a wide range of media, including installation, sculpture, photography, drawing and digital art. Haliti's work often addresses political, social and cultural issues, particularly in relation to identity, borders, migration and the relationship between people and space.
        Education and career

Flaka Haliti studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and later obtained a master's degree from the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. Her training at these prestigious institutions enabled her to refine her artistic practice and position herself on an international level.
        Themes and style

A central theme in Haliti's work is the exploration of boundaries and spaces in between - both geographical, emotional and mental. She explores the transitions between different realities and perceptions, often with a playful yet critical approach. Her works reflect the influence of technology and globalization, but also the personal and collective experience of isolation and alienation, especially against the backdrop of post-Yugoslav Kosovo and its political history.

        Major exhibitions and recognition

Flaka Haliti has participated in many international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale (2015), where she represented Kosovo in the national pavilion. She has received several awards for her work, including grants and prizes, underlining her importance on the international art scene.

Haliti is valued for her ability to translate abstract and often poetic ideas into tangible visual forms. Her works manage to present complex themes such as belonging, identity and power structures in an accessible yet profound way.
