The Wadden Sea Visitor Center has something for every desire for adventure or thirst for knowledge on three floors. Natural history tours into the mudflats, the salt marshes or the coastal heaths are offered as well as a permanent exhibition on the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site and the Cuxhaven coastal heaths.

You can explore the exhibition independently or be guided by the audio guide. The unique view from the panorama windows alone is worth a visit. The aquariums, which show the typical inhabitants of the Wadden Sea in their underwater world, are particularly interesting for the children. The whole house is barrier-free and people with walking difficulties can borrow the Wattmobil free of charge for a trip to the Watt.

  • Away from the crowds, it can be reasonably quiet at this beach section (without beach chairs). It is not far to the feed mile and the carriages to the island Neuwerk can be observed from here also well.

  • The new Wadden Sea visitor center is located slightly away from the big bustle of Sahlenburg directly in the dunes. Very informative with a view out to the sea.
