The hermitage was consecrated in 1890.A large part, however, dates back to 1945.
Monks of the Carmelite Order lived here for over 30 years.Today, the monastery is abandoned and closed.A suitable place to rest and recount the place's grim history:
In 1926, a monk fell from a ladder and died. Shortly thereafter, another monk was found dead in a well, suffering a severe blow to the head. The circumstances of his death remained unclear. There was speculation about an accident, robbery, or suicide. In 1949, a mentally disabled man who was caring for the hermitage is said to have beaten his sister to death and then hanged himself from a holm oak tree. The oak tree with the sawn-off branch is said to still stand today.

Even if the actual monastery is locked, you still have access to the monastery complex, so that a visit is definitely worthwhile ... especially for the wonderful panoramic view.
