The Bärental has two quarries in the lower area. The lower one is huge. It practically reaches, only separated by a high embankment, into the Wendebach valley. It is closed for safety and nature conservation reasons. In the middle area, at the junction of the Mönchsweg to the Romanesque monastery church of St. Christophorus, there is a rock with two arched niches and a disc cross. A second disc cross to the right of the first cross on the same rock fell victim to a blast while the road was spreading.
