The carbonic acid plant of the Selterssprudel Augusta-Victoria was operated in 1902.
In 1896 the drilled water gushed and the Selters factory built the well and the factory. The water was named Augusta-Victoria-Sprudel in honor of the German Empress.
Sparkling water was shipped in signed clay jars until glass bottles were invented.
