Undoubtedly the most popular and crowded place in the Serra de Bèrnia, not only for its views but for its striking shape.
It is a natural passageway that was formerly used by shepherds for shelter.
The cave has a length of 20 m and a variable height to the point that in some sectors it will be necessary to crouch down.
It is a place to visit at any time of the year, although in high season it is usually too crowded and you will find people all along the path.

At the Font de Bèrnia pylons you have to leave the dirt track and continue to the right along a mountain path that begins on some steps next to the fountain. The detour is indicated with a PR-CV 7 post. The path is narrow and increases in slope, you can still jog but it is impossible to run and contemplate the magnificent panorama of the coast of Calpe at the same time, you have to pay attention to each passed. The path passes through a small plateau with a viewpoint and interpretation panel and continues the ascent towards the base of the limestone wall of Bèrnia. In several sections there are rocky steps and cliffs that can be slippery when damp or wet, the path goes up through the shady area of the north face and it is easy to find mud and wet stones. The path leads directly to the northern entrance of the Forat de Bèrnia, a hole barely two meters high and two meters wide that immediately narrows and there is no choice but to advance in a crouch for several meters. The tunnel is about 30 meters long and it is not necessary to carry a flashlight or headlamp, it is a natural cavity in the mountain and is sufficiently illuminated with the light that enters through the mouth of the south slope. The departure is spectacular over the bays of Altea and Benidorm, the “Manhattan of the Mediterranean”. And in the background the Puig Campana, the Ponoig and the Aitana mountain range over the Guadalest valley, a fascinating image of the Costa Blanca.
