High Bank Trail at Harlachinger Straße

The eastern bank of the Isar is much steeper and more distinctive in the urban area than the western bank, and the steep slopes are often still covered with a fairly natural forest. As far as the Mittlerer Ring, you can almost completely hike in the green on the high bank path into the city. - a beautiful promenade in all seasons.
In the area of Harlachinger Straße, the Auer Mühlbach, an old town stream, flows at the foot of the slope, but in parts it was also an arm of the Isar, before hydraulic engineering measures forced the Isar from Marienklause to a more westerly course in the 14th century.

Avoid it at lunchtime on the weekend, at these times it is simply very busy.
