This Ardennes stream rises between the hamlets of La Louveterie (municipality of Limbourg) and Vervierfontaine (municipality of Jalhay) at an altitude of approximately 350 meters. From its source to its confluence with the Gileppe, this forest stream forms the boundary between the municipalities of Limbourg and Jalhay. After flowing for about four kilometers in a northeasterly direction, the Borchêne joins the Gileppe on its left bank some 300 meters downstream from the dam.
