The small sacred monument that appears here, which presents itself to the passing cyclist at this spot, may cause a pause for surprise, as the design of the wayside cross is unusual: First, there is the striking circle that encloses the intersection of the longitudinal and transverse beams, which is comparatively rare in Germany, as this design is of Celtic origin and is particularly common in Ireland. The circle also bears a remarkable inscription: "Christ, you are my passion," it says; I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else.
