The tower house was built in the 12th or 13th century by the von Friesdorf family and was designed as a knightly estate. It later came into the possession of the Abbey of St. Michael in Siegburg, which gave it as a fief, including to von Belderbusch and von Schall. In 1830, the property was inherited by Baroness von Boeselager. During World War II, the house was badly damaged in a bomb attack on December 21, 1944. During the reconstruction, the roof shape was changed from a hip roof to a tent roof...
The Romanesque building has a basalt foundation and base. The walls are made of trachyte rubble, from which the wall surrounding the garden was also made.
