Kleiner Riffelsee

The Riffelsee is a little off the beaten track of Zermatt, but the Riffelseeweg (No. 21) leads directly to it. The view of the Matterhorn, the mountain of mountains, standing alone on the horizon, is overwhelming. Above it is only the universe - you will never forget this view. There is no wind and the water surface is therefore flat, especially early in the morning and late in the evening.

The small Riffelsee is a bit west of the actual hotspot and can be recognized by the rocks in the water.

Although it doesn't offer the well-known reflection like its "big brother", the atmosphere is at least as great and less crowded.

The most important thing is the weather, when the sun is shining and the clouds have disappeared the view is magnificent!
