The Elisabeth Chapel was built in 1908. In 1920 it came into the possession of the community of Rosenburg. It served as a place for regular church services until the 1950s. Then she fell into a "deep sleep" and was brought back to life in 1974.

The chapel, built on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Josef, is dedicated to St. Elisabeth of Thuringia, who is depicted above the entrance gate with the features of the imperial wife Sisi.
In 1974 the Waldkapelle was awakened from its slumber by the Rosenburgers.

A nice highlight on hikes and definitely a place to linger! Not only the chapel itself is worth seeing, but also the view of the valley or the Rosenburg.
