Frickenhausen am Main (officially: Frickenhausen a.Main) is a market in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg and a member of the Eibelstadt administrative community. It is one of the oldest medieval wine towns in Main Franconia, whose historical appearance has largely been preserved. The sandstone figure of Maria Immaculata by the sculptor Joseph Ritter stands on an ornamented pillar above a pedestal and dates from 1710. They are accompanied by putti and emblems from the Litany of Lauretania. The pedestal is flanked by two archangels on a baluster-like enclosure, the latter was reconstructed in 1953. Originally, the Queen of Heaven was surrounded by four attendants, as four archangels surround God's throne, but two of the figures perished in the 1784 flood.
