In 1702, Baltasar Wolf applied for permission to build a new oil and stamping mill with two grinding gears in the immediate vicinity of his Aalkistensee mill. The lower mill was completed in 1704. In 1716, he sold the lower Aalkisten mill to Hans Ulrich Kolb from Knittlingen. In 1771, the lower mill was given a third grinding gear and in 1781 the facility was expanded with a barn with stables and in 1790 with a residential building with a basement.

It is noteworthy that no mill pond is shown on the Württemberg cadastral map from 1835. The mill was powered indirectly with water from the Aalkistensee via the Salzach. It is obvious that no mill pond was required.

Today, the disused Lerchenmühle has been preserved as a residential building.
