St. Victor Parish Church (1845) – Guntersblum 🚴‍♂️

For about 100 years, the two denominations shared a church. Finally, in 1844/45, the civic community helped the Catholics build their own St. Victor Church. The church building was located on municipal land opposite the town hall. It is a neo-Romanesque hall structure with three tall Romanesque windows, a round east choir, and two altars. A tower with a tall, pointed spire is incorporated into the west gable. The tower received two bells. The beautiful 18th-century Madonna sculpture in the neo-Gothic side altar is noteworthy. The consecration was performed by Bishop Kaiser of Mainz on November 16, 1845. The deed hangs in the church's sacristy. In July 1965, the then pastor was able to move into the parish's own rectory opposite the Catholic church. When the parish celebrated its 750th anniversary in 1987, it decided to purchase a new stone altar, which would replace the existing wooden structure in 1989. 🚴‍
