The art trail in Abtsteinach was laid out as part of an artist symposium in July 2000 along the hiking trail from the grill hut at the Steinach spring to the sports field in Oberabsteinach. Another piece of art trail in nature was created a few years later in the west of Oberabsteinach. With the help of local sponsors, the concept of art in nature with works of sandstone, metal and wood was continued there.
