    Very nice climb when tackled from Heimbach. The mass cemetery next to the Abtei is also worth a stop.

    The monastery indicates that you have made it to the top. Or that you can roll down a few more hairpin bends. No matter in which direction you come here, the attached cafe offers everything your heart desires. On weekends and especially in the summer months, things can get busy here. If you want to be alone, it's best to come early.

    I have to honestly say that I didn't like the abbey that much. Somehow it all seemed a bit repellent to me. The Steinfeld Monastery near Kall, or the Knechtsteden Monastery near Rommerskirchen are more beautiful places, I think.
