It is one of the city's most notable civil architectural buildings in the Joanne Baroque style. On the façade, the exuberance of decoration stands out, from the richly crafted central door and also from the 11 windows that run through the two floors. The ornaments are asymmetrical, giving the building a dynamism and drama common in the work of architect André Soares.
