Hiking
It is a fountain, in the Mannerist style, with a pyramidal system that is tapering in height, with two superimposed bowls.
In 1594, Archbishop D. Frei Agostinho de Jesus ordered his favourite master mason, Manuel Luís, to build a grand and decorated granite fountain at the eastern end of Campo de Santa Ana (current Avenida Central).
In 1865, it was dismantled and moved to Praça do Comércio and in 1914 it was transferred to its current location.
