The Gerolsteiner citizens' fountain is located on the rondel - forecourt. The special thing about this fountain: before it was built in 2013, citizens of Gerolstein could submit objects that were to be immortalized on the bottom of the fountain under a layer of epoxy resin. In the meantime, however, the layer had to be renewed because the resin had yellowed.
The fountain was created as a result of a citizens' request. The water mirror symbolically takes up the themes of volcanism, water and geology, which are so important for Gerolstein.

Hiking

The so-called "Bürgerbrunnen" was put into operation in 2014 and had to be renovated in the summer of 2019. The layer of epoxy resin, which was supposed to protect the "treasures" set into the ground by Gerolsteiner citizens, was torn in a few places and the silicone seal was now leaking and had to be replaced.

Located in the middle of the small center of Gerolstein, there's always something going on, we were there in the evening, a band was playing and we didn't drink a Gerolsteiner, but a Bitburger 🤣
