The Herbstbach rises southwest of the Mariawald Abbey. It initially runs around 600 meters in a north-easterly direction, then at the level of the Heimbach war cemetery for around 830 meters in a north-westerly direction, and then runs for around 680 more in a north-easterly direction. There it drains into the dam in the Steinbach settlement area of the city of Heimbach. ... "
