Monte Gelbison is the fourth highest mountain in Cilento. On the 1705 meters high peak, there is the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sacro Monte di Novi Velia, a destination for pilgrimages since the 16th century. From here the panorama opens up over the Cilento, the Vallo di Diano and the Gulf of Salerno.

The Gelbison is a mountain of the Lucanian Sub-Apennines of 1,705 m a.s.l. located in the province of Salerno. It is the fourth highest mountain in Cilento, preceded by the summit of the relatively close Cervati, by Panormo and by Faiatella
The sanctuary of Our Lady of the Sacred Mountain of Novi Velia is located on the top of Mount Gelbison, on the site of an ancient sacred pagan settlement.
