The Altenberg wildlife park is a natural enclosure in a fenced-in forest area of 448 hectares. Here you can observe fallow deer, roe deer, mouflons and wild boar in the early hours.

You can explore a signposted network of paths almost ten kilometers long on foot at any time, except in autumn during the rut. The owner of the wildlife park is Prince Hubertus of Sayn-Wittgenstein, who lives in Odenthal.

The animals live completely freely in this forest area. Only a herd of fallow deer grazes the grass of the wildlife park on fenced-in pastures.

This means that there is no fence between the visitors and the animals, only at the outer edge of the entire wildlife park. The animals, such as wild boars, deer and mouflons, can move freely across the entire area of the wildlife park.
