You hike over wooded slopes to the banks of the Bleiloch reservoir. Hikers are treated to wonderful views from a rock pillar rising steeply out of the water, the Totenfels near Zoppoten. Before the Saale was built, it flowed just beneath the Totenfels. People are said to have been thrown into it here. On the opposite right bank you can see the Zoppoten boat landing stage.
