If you are on the Roan Trail to Sauberg Trail is worth the detour on the Habsburg wait not only because of the great view, but also because of the extra altitude and a very nice opportunity for a short rest.

A strange comic tower with a great view of Vienna. He stands on the highest elevation and should be scheduled with every tour!

The Habsburg waiting room is located on the 542 m high Hermannskogel in Vienna. It is 27 meters high and has the shape of a medieval fortified tower. The architect Franz von Neumann is responsible for the external appearance. The Habsburg observatory was founded by the Austrian Tourist Club in 1888 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I and opened in 1889. In 1972 it was listed as a historical monument. It is still operated by the ÖTK as a lookout tower and is open to the public on weekends from spring to late autumn (around April to November) for a small entrance fee. However, there are also other dates for registered groups. On the viewing platform of the Habsburg observatory is the fundamental point of the Austrian Land Surveying, the 1892 from k. u. k. Military Geographic Institute was determined.During the Second World War the Habsburg wardens were damaged. Helpful in the repair was the EVN, which may use the building as a radio relay

Furthermore not only because of that, especially for the Hermannskogel Downhill but much more for the Woodline! Is rather something for experienced Enduristen or bikers who like to drive and much downhill!

The highest point of Vienna is always worth a detour. Behind the control room there is a nice single trail for more experienced bikers
