On the hiking trail in the Wutachflühen you surprisingly come across an almost 1 m tall animal figure carved in stone. A mythical creature with hooves, bumps on its back and originally a small horn on its forehead. Or is it a lion? It is said to have been created by a sculptor from Spain or Italy who lived as a guest worker in Blumberg and fell in love with a girl from Fützen, who often roamed the Flühen. But the girl wasn't interested in him. He then created the animal sculpture and said to the girl: "Whenever you go through the refuges, you will think of me". Today it is regarded as the "guardian of the Wutach rivers".

According to legend, the figure was once created by a guest worker who fell in love with a woman who regularly walked in the refuges.
