A detour to this nature reserve is definitely worth it. The Alte Körne nature reserve is located in the northeast of Dortmund in the Kurl district of the Scharnhorst district. It covers 125.7 hectares. The "Alte Körne" nature reserve was established on November 30, 1990, by the Dortmund-Nord landscape plan and also in the first amendment to the Dortmund-Nord landscape plan on September 2, 2005. The nature reserve owes its name to the Alte Körne stream, which flows into the Körnebach. The nature reserve is closely linked to the nearby Buschei, Lanstroper See, and Kurler Busch nature reserves. The objectives of the area are the preservation and development of near-natural mixed deciduous forests rich in old and dead wood, intertwined with extensively used grassland and open spaces as well as fallow land.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturschutzgebiet_Alte_K%C3%B6rne

The "Alte Körne" nature reserve is located north of the Dortmund-Kamen railway line. Its name comes from the Alte Körne River, which flows through a floodplain forest here. The pools and ponds in the reserve were primarily formed by subsidence.More information: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturschutzgebiet_Alte_K%C3%B6rne
