There used to be a farm with 105 acres of land here. There were several changes of ownership, the last one being sold to the Royal Bavarian Forest Administration. A house was demolished and a forester's house was built with the stones. It is now owned by the state forest management and is rented to Otterberg, barbecue area, parking lot and a small park has been created.

The Grafenthal fountain is on the right in front of the large rest area with a shelter. Its history “is closely linked to that of the Grafenthalerhof. The spring served to supply water to the residents of the farm.” The farm existed from 1712 to 1845; then it went to the forest administration and was used as a forester's lodge [until 1977].
"The Grafenthal fountain was renovated in 2001 by the PWV and its Otterberg local group, the Otterberg forestry office and with the financial support of the Bavarian Insurance Chamber, whereby [...] the preservation and restoration of the historical form was preserved."
