A quiet, contemplative pond that you can also walk around. On one side of the pond are the remains of the former town estate "Hilliger`sches Vorwerk" from the 17th and 18th centuries. Century.

The Vorwerk was documented in 1875, but the building fabric dates back to the 17th / 18th. Century. It is also known under the name Pfeifersches Vorwerk. In addition to barns, the four-sided courtyard has two combined residential and stable buildings. The city of Freiberg acquired the city property in 1692 from the St. Johannis Hospital. In 1760 the manor and stables burned down due to the carelessness of Prussian soldiers. From the miles sheets (regional history summary) it emerges that the Vorwerk had the current building structure as early as 1790, including a barn standing apart, which has since been removed. The existence of the upstream beaver pond can be traced back to the 17th century. The name "Hilliger'sches Vorwerk" goes back to an old Freiberg noble family. The family owned an important foundry. There are bat boxes on the buildings. For those interested, a trip at dusk / night is also worthwhile.
