The station is located at the western end of the line and is equipped with a turning loop and turnouts. The points allow the arrival and departure of the west of the station located facilities (depot and workshops). In 2007, the station building, which originated from the time of origin, had to make way for a new building. From the station you can reach the station Wuppertal-Vohwinkel, the district center and the trolleybus to Solingen.

Not only the suspension railway itself, but also its stops are highlights. Each one is designed differently, each one a visual treat. A ride on the suspension railway is always worth it!

The Wuppertal suspension railway is a technical highlight. Since 1901 it has been running between Vohwinkel and Barmen, partly as a "land stretch" over roads, in large part as a "water stretch" over the course of the river Wupper. The unique design resulted from the topography of the formerly independent cities of Vohwinkel, Elberfeld and Barmen in the narrow valley of the Wupper. A one-way trip over the entire route takes about half an hour.
