Remnant of an old castle complex. Sometimes called Castle Aprath. Private property, no visit.
May 21, 2017
The building ensemble, referred to as Schloss Aprath, is essentially based on the modern castle building, which was built in 1722 by Freiherr Johann Abraham Friedrich von Syberg at Aprath near the medieval castle of Aprath, a fortified and fortified village of the local nobility inhabited since the High Middle Ages , Over time, the buildings were rebuilt several times. The appearance after the rebuilding of Carl Rumpff in the 19th century has shaped the memory of the estate. Today, the entire castle complex has disappeared. There are only remnants of the medieval fortification located directly on the main road 74, which are sometimes called Castle Aprath.
