"Wide views and the impressive Laacher See, over which you can see the Maria Laach monastery, are a delight on this trail. The "alpine" ascent to the Krufter Ofen is physically demanding, but the reward is a great view. Sure-footedness is required here, as there is an increased risk of slipping, especially when wet. An alternative route has been designated to avoid this area."
