n 2001, Wijnhoeve De Kleine Schorre saw the light of day in Zeeland. A strict selection of grapes was made in collaboration with the renowned Luxembourg wine company Cep d'Or. The choice of grape varieties is based on a number of criteria. One of these is that the wines must fit seamlessly with the good that Zeeland has had to offer for many years, namely the Zeeuwse Zilte Zaligheden. These salty delicacies consist of: mussels, Oosterschelde lobster, oysters, flatfish, sea lavender and samphire. The choice of grape varieties therefore fell on Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Rivaner and Auxerrois.

Currently, 63,000 vines have already been planted. The vineyard has grown to 14 hectares, making it one of the largest vineyards in the Netherlands. The cellar and the experimental area are housed in the barn of the Wijnhoeve. When it is time for the harvest, the Wijnhoeve relies on volunteers to pick the grapes. The grapes are processed with the greatest care in the cellar on the premises.
