The Ottensheim wire rope bridge is a pedestrian, cyclist and automobile ferry across the Danube west of Linz.
The ferry connects the two communities Ottensheim and Wilhering. The next bridges are around 16 kilometers upstream at Aschach and around 9 kilometers downstream in Linz (Nibelungen Bridge). Pedestrians and cyclists can (depending on the season) cross the Danube via the Ottensheim power plant located around 2.4 kilometers upstream.
The ferry is in service Monday through Saturday from 6:15 am to approximately 7:20 pm. On Sundays and public holidays, driving starts at 8:00 a.m.
The prices for a simple crossing (status: 3/2015) [1] are:
1.90 euros (pedestrians)
3.00 euros (cyclists)
5.20 euros (automobile)
