The Alpe di Siusi, in the middle of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park, is characterized by extensive meadows and idyllic alpine huts. The Alpe di Siusi is Europe's largest plateau and covers an area of around 6,000 hectares. The Hochalm is located at 1,680 meters above sea level at the foot of the Schlernmassiv the sea level. Over the decades, small settlements were created on the Alpe di Siusi, which now mainly serve tourist purposes. Kompatsch is the largest fraction and is located on the western side of the plateau.
