Basin grounds
The Netherlands currently has almost 120 duck decoys, in addition to a large number of remains (cage relics). In the past, there were many more. The largest numbers were in the difficult to access basin grounds. These areas were suitable for setting up duck decoys due to their remote location, but at the same time, these decoys were also one of the few ways to earn something in those areas. The duck decoy also yielded eggs and fish and the planting yielded willow branches.
