Hasportsee emerged from a quarry pond that supplied sand for the adjacent motorway construction between 1957 and 1963. In 1962 the lake was prepared as a local recreation area. Today it is part of the nature reserve "Valley of Stickgraser Bäke and Heidbäke" and is home to dragonflies, fish and birds. With the nearby Hasport estate, the lake is also a popular destination for excursions and walks, and of course a runner is also in the right place here.
