The Brandner Glacier, or rather its sad remnant, can be walked easily and without crevasses in the snow-free months with the appropriate equipment. Grodeln are recommended. The trail is marked with poles and provided with a fog cord.

The glacier is a visible example of the effects of ever-increasing temperatures. It used to be the third largest glacier in Vorarlberg. In the early 1980s there were still plans for a summer ski area.

The disappearance of the Brandner Glacier or Brandner Ferner will progress continuously in the coming years until it melts completely. With major effects on the surrounding alpine pastures and water bodies (e.g. Glingabrunnen komoot.de/highlight/858439)

For tours over the increasingly rapidly disappearing ice surface, this means correspondingly longer travel times or the routes become impassable.

You have to look closely because the poles had fallen over and the line was also on the ice.

Sticks or Grödel are recommended as it is very slippery, especially when getting out.

Nice little glacier. Safe and also very easy to do without rope and crampons. The entrance is a bit steep on the rope but also easy to do.
