The villa was built in 1901/02 by the steel construction entrepreneur and councilor of commerce Ernst Noelle by Hermann Solfs and Franz Wichards as a stone building with stylistic elements of the German Renaissance. The associated property was originally 9,000 square meters, was located directly on Lake Dianasee and reached as far as Hasensprung. It comprised today's house numbers 6a, 8 and 10. He came to Berlin through the steel trade at Thyssen and founded the steel trading company Steffen und Noelle here with his friend Steffen. Among other things, the company supplied the steel for the construction of the radio tower. On September 14th, 1899, the manufacturer Ernst Noelle acquired the 9000 square meter plot of land at Winkler Strasse 8/10 on the Dianasee in Berlin-Grunewald from the manufacturer Franz Pietschmann. From 1901–1902 he had a villa built there by the Berlin architects Hermann Solf and Franz Wichards, into which he moved with his wife and five children. In 1920 the heirs sold the house. The house is now a listed building.
