At the beginning of the 19th century, the Haintor was one of the only two possible ways to get into or out of the city. The 15 meter high, rectangular gate tower stands defiantly in front of us. The originally taller tower lost its top floor in 1689, the dilapidated Vorwerk demolished the community in 1818/19. The members of the Freinsheim trade association renovated and restored the Haintor with great dedication, professionalism and care. (Source: City of Freinsheim)
