In 1450 the Bramstedt farmers had a bell tower with a prayer bell erected, which was destroyed in a fire in 1871. In the mid-1980s, the tower was rebuilt according to historical models. A special feature is the Bramstedter bell ringer, who rings the bell - according to an old custom - on special occasions. For example, the death of a Bramstedt resident at 8 a.m., the birth of a child at noon at 12 p.m. and a wedding at 4 p.m. are announced to the citizens by the sound of the bell.
