The Hammerkopf tower in Castrop-Rauxel is a weighty witness to the past of mining. Built over shaft 3 of the Erin colliery in 1920, it is the oldest of its kind in North Rhine-Westphalia and surrounded by a special mysticism. A Celtic tree circle in memory of Mulvany has been created around him. An interesting landmark and landmark visible from afar.

Honoring Celtic roots through root systems!
Erin's Hammerhead Tower was one of only ten towers built in the Ruhr in the 1920s. From 1937 until the decommissioning of the coal mine in 1983, shaft 3 was only used for rope travel; the coal left the pit through shaft 7 on the edge of the city center of Castrop-Rauxel.
The hammerhead tower was restored in 1993 with state funds. The city of Castrop-Rauxel created around it a "Celtic circle of trees" and thus honors the founder of the mine.
