Small serene cemetery. Cemetery consists of 2 plots of 50 graves. 97 English and 3 Canadian soldiers got their final resting place here against the dune ridge High Sleeve.
They all died between 14 and 20 September 1944, during the battle of Ten Aard. The Tommies attempted to form a military fortress near the Kempen Canal and were bombarded continuously for days by German artillery.
Most of them, especially Scots, were very young when they gave their lives for the homeland.
Two boys were barely eighteen! With ten next to each other in the same number of rows, 97 British and three Canadians found their final resting place here.
