Buggerru is today a seaside village of around a thousand souls which played an important role in the mining history of Sardinia.

This small town was called "petit Paris" in its heyday, when it was inhabited by the elite of the mining companies that operated in the area.
It is also sadly known for the massacre of workers carried out by the Italian army who fired on workers who went on strike to obtain better working conditions. Today it remains a quiet place in the middle of nature and facing the sea.
