From the vantage point on the bridge, the Freudenau harbor on the Danube Canal offers an impressive scenery. Below lies the expansive harbor basin, where ships dock and cargo are handled, while behind it, the silhouettes of cranes, industrial facilities, and expanses of water loom. The contrast between technical functionality and the calm flow of the canal lends the place a special atmosphere. Especially from above, an exciting perspective opens up, revealing the harbor in all its expanse and connecting its industrial character with the course of the river.

Freudenau Port is the youngest and most modern part of Hafen Wien and was opened in 1978 as an efficient Danube port. Located directly on the Danube, it connects inland navigation with the rail and road network and is one of the most important logistics hubs in Vienna. Along the paths around the port area, exciting views open up of cranes, cargo ships, and the wide port basin – an interesting contrast to the surrounding floodplain landscape.
